Scene 2 interior WBAI office
UTRICE: It's good of you to join us, Bessie. We have
WORK to do!
BESSIE: Oh, it's nothing. It's the kind of thing that
happens everyday.
They hear banging on the door.
VOICES: Let us in!
BARBIE: Who's that?
UTRICE: Ignore them. It's just a couple of drunks.
We don't want those irresponsible types in here. We're a happy family.
VOICES: You changed the locks!
UTRICE: Not I. Did you change the locks, Bessie?
BESSIE: Shucks no, not a little 'ol girl from Brooklyn.
Did you, Barbie?
BARBIE: No. I swear to Gore I didn't. Good golly,
look! It's that baby.
BESSIE: The baby is changing all the locks!
BARBIE: But whose baby is it? Is it yours, Utrice?
UTRICE: No, you're not quite there. Try again, Barbie.
BARBIE: Is it yours, Bessie?
BESSIE: No. I've been here 4 weeks and no one has
told me I have a baby.
BARBIE: So whose baby is it?!!
UTRICE, BESSIE: IT'S ROSEMARY'S BABY!
