What follows is the text of a flyer, hard copies of which are available at the Pacifica Campaign office (646-230-9588), and a downloadable version of which will (I believe) soon be available at www.wbaiaction.org. If you need a laid-out version right away, email Bob Lederer at ledererbob@usa.net and I'll send it as an attached file in Microsoft Word. Separately, please note (at the end of this email) the phone/fax/email campaign against the Pacifica Board. Help spread the word!

NATIONAL DAY of OUTRAGE for DEMOCRACY NOW!
Tuesday, August 28, 2001
To demand the return of Democracy Now! to WBAI
Where: Outside the offices of WBAI
Since the Christmas Coup, December 22, 2000, twenty-fiour (24) progressive producers have been fired, banned, removed or driven from listener-sponsored station WBAI. In recent weeks, Polk-award winning journalist Robert Knight was banished from the airwaves after more than 20 years at the station. Now, after months of verbally harassing Amy Goodman and the Democracy Now! crew, station management has escalated the abuse-it has become physical. To feel safe, the Democracy Now! crew has moved to another working space. Yet Pacifica's management continues the harassment, citing the crew as insubordinate and suspending them because they refuse to work where they are subject to daily attacks. The Democracy Now staff is now being supported by its union, AFTRA, in its demand for a safe workplace. On August 28, listeners and activists will rally peacefully and legally at various sites across the country to insist that Pacifica cease and desist its aggressive strong-arm tactics. And they will demand the IMMEDIATE RESIGNATIONS of rogue Pacifica National Board members Valrie Chambers, Bob Farrell, Ken Ford, Wendell Johns, Bert Lee and John Murdock.
