Washington, DC
Arrangements have been made for the hotel we will be using for the upcoming Special Meeting of the IPNB on Sunday, October 13 and Monday, October 14th. We will be staying at and meeting at:
Madison Hotel
If you want to stay at the hotel, please call them as soon as possible. If you use the code for this meeting you will get the discounted rates we have arranged....but only if you make your reservation by Monday, October 7th. The rate at the Madison Hotel is $99 single or double. Rooms have King, Queen, 2 twins or 2 double beds in a room. If there are more than 2 people in a room, the additional cost for that person is $20.00. You might be aware of the fact that this meeting will be taking place while four of our five stations will be doing their fund drives. There is usually a momentum that builds during a fund drive and doing live gavel to gavel coverage of our meeting could seriously interrupt that momentum. At the same time, it is important that listeners throughout Pacifica have an opportunity to know what's happening during this special meeting. We are in discussions with the stations to see what can be done to respect the needs of their fund drives and also meet the need to have our deliberations be as open as possible. As soon as this gets sorted out we will get word out. For sure we will have everything webcast.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE INTERIM PACIFICA NATIONAL BOARD
Sunday, October 13 from 9 am to 7 pm and
During the recent meeting in Houston there was agreement that the IPNB needed to convene a special meeting to just focus on the bylaws revision work. This meeting will take place in Washington, DC on Sunday October 13 and Monday October 14th. Details about the exact meeting location, etc will be made available early next week. As always, the meeting is open and we hope people from all five listening areas will be able to attend. Plans are being made for webcasts of the entire meeting. We are also discussing with the station managers the possibility of live broadcasts on the Pacifica stations. Four of our five stations will be in the fund drives and so this complicates things a little. Again, as soon as we know the plans we will share that information as widely as possible. Thank you for your patience as the details are being worked on. -------
