This is Marion Barry from the Interim Board of Directors of the Pacifica Foundation. The Pacifica Foundation operates five listener supported radio stations, WBAI in New York City, WPFA in Washington, D.C., KPFT in Houston, Texas, KPFK in Los Angeles and KPFA in Berkeley, California. The Foundation's mission is to promote cultural diversity and pluralistic community expression; to contribute to a lasting understanding between peoples of all nations, race, creed and colors; to promote freedom of the press, and to serve as a forum for various viewpoints while maintaining an independent funding base. Pacifica is committed to maintaining community based, free speech, corporate-free radio.

The Pacifica Foundation is seeking an Executive Director to manage and direct the national staff including volunteers, unit directors and station general managers in providing effective operation of the Foundation's radio stations, while ensuring fiscal stability. In addition, the Executive Director represents the Foundation in the community and to legislative and administrative bodies such as the FCC and Corporation for Public Broadcasting.

Candidates must have demonstrated strong communication skills, fiscal, organizational and leadership experience, as well as success in building and diversifying organizational support in the community. In addition a commitment to Pacifica's mission is required.
