A. PURPOSE
An unincorporated Group of independent community radio, public radio, low-power FM, and web broadcasters formed for the express purpose of nominating to the Pacifica National Board a person or persons to represent the interests of Pacifica Affiliates, and to provide affiliate representation at Pacifica in other venues or capacities as opportunities for such representation become available.

B. MEMBERS
Members of the Pacifica Alliance will be those Pacifica Affiliates that wish to participate in the governance and decision-making activities of the Pacifica National Board and the Pacifica Affiliates Program and other such activities now open or made open in the future to Affiliates.

C. NOMINATIONS
Nominations to the Pacifica National Board Affiliate Representative position will be solicited from Alliance member broadcasters, hereinafter called "station(s)".

Each station will designate, in accordance with that station's own process, a voting representative empowered to bring forward that station's nomination(s) and to cast that station's vote.

Each name placed in nomination by a station must be seconded in writing by another Alliance member station.

Nominees will provide candidate statements including biographical information, experience and statement of intent, to be circulated to all members of the alliance.

D. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE AFFILIATE REPRESENTATIVE TO THE PACIFICA NATIONAL BOARD

The Affiliate Representative nominated by the Alliance and elected by the Pacifica National Board (PNB) will:
1.Fulfill the responsibilities of a Board member as defined in the Pacifica National Board By-Laws
2.Maintain open, two-way communication with Affiliates
3. In advance of regularly scheduled Pacifica National Board meetings, solicit input from Affiliates on issues and resolutions under consideration by the PNB, as published in the minutes and agendas of the PNB and its committees.
4. Bring to the PNB issues of concern as raised by Affiliates.
5. Report back to Affiliates in timely manner issues and outcomes from PNB meetings, committee meetings, reports and other communications from PNB.

E. ADDITIONAL REPRESENTATION Alliance will select additional persons to represent Affiliate interests in other areas of Pacifica management and governance as such opportunities are provided.

This representation may be provided by the elected Affiliate representative, or the Alliance may choose to create additional selection processes, as it deems necessary.
